Kim and Jeff were wedding clients of mine a couple of years ago, and they are now about to enter a whole new phase in their lives, parenthood. I was so excited when Kim called and asked if I would be available to do maternity pictures with her! It’s a lot of fun for me to get the chance to continue being a part of my client’s lives through maternity and baby pictures.
I’m only going to post a couple favorites here, due to the private nature of this type of photography.
In December, I had the pleasure of photographing Jane and Jerry’s 80th birthday party at the OSU Golf Club Restaurant. It was wonderful to see them surrounded by their family and friends, as they shared this very important milestone in their lives. With their children and their grandchildren, they toasted to their life together.
This image below is my favorite of the evening. This sweet moment right before they blew out their 80 candles.
Amy and Ryan are getting married in 2010. We first met a couple of weeks ago, and they are a really great couple. Plus, after their engagement session we bonded over sushi.
We started off at Amy and Ryan’s house to try to get a couple pictures with their cat Kobe. Cat pictures are often tricky because, well, cats just don’t really always like to cooperate. Dogs, sure, give ‘em a treat, whistle a little bit and they’re happy to sit there and look cute. We did actually get a couple of really cute ones with Kobe, but this one below is such a classic cat picture I had to post it.
We did get a couple of really great pictures of the three of them, and I got this one of Kobe posing on the steps. Such a pretty cat.
After pictures at the apartment with Kobe, we went down to Creekside in Gahanna and walked around. There was still a little bit of fall color, and then sunset light was gorgeous.
My weddings have wrapped up for the 2009 wedding season, and now I’m gearing up for another awesome year! 2010 wedding dates are booking now, and it is so fun to meet the new people that will be such a big part of my life for the next year.
I did Jenny’s cousin Leah’s wedding a couple of years ago, and when it came time for Jenny’s wedding, her and her mom called me. We had a great time at our first meeting, and I was so excited when they booked with me.
Jenny and Jason’s wedding will be at St. Mary’s in Marion. Since I’ve moved to the Delaware area, I’ve been trying to creatively get my name out in both Delaware and Marion, so it was really fun to get to shoot in Marion for the first time. There are some amazing spots for photography in the downtown Marion area. So cool! For instance this building below. I’m not sure it could be more perfect… awesome blue, old red brick, cool black aged lettering, and a gorgeous couple! Whew!
We also found this cool old abandoned building. This was as far in as we went, it was pretty creepy, but so worth it for the awesome shots we got in there.
I may have mentioned that I have been loving eyelashes lately… love it!
We also went to the Harding Memorial for a couple of pictures. What a beautiful place! Plus the sun was setting, which makes for awesome light. This is one of my favs from the memorial, but there are many more in the slideshow. We also decided to do a couple of Jenny and her mom Cindy, and even a couple of Cindy alone, also in the slideshow.
Nicole and Shawn were married a few weeks ago at the beautiful St. James the Less on Oakland Park in Columbus. St. James is a gorgeous church! I’m pretty sure the ceremony pictures from Shawn and Nicole’s wedding are some of my favorite ever. Keep in mind, no flash is allowed during the ceremony, so it’s so nice when the sunlight is streaming through the windows. Plus I love the colors of the church. Just so cool.
This moment happened right after the priest announced Shawn and Nicole. Such a sweet little moment.
O-H-I-O! For pictures after the ceremony, we went to North Bank Park. Another beautiful location!
Nicole looking beautiful, framed by her bridesmaid’s flowers. I love the brown dresses with the color of the roses!
Cathedral length veils, oh yes I love ‘em!
Just an fyi I often use whatever song people dance to at their reception for their slideshow song. Well, a lot of people having been loving this song ‘Lucky’ lately, so I’ve been using it a lot. I just wanted you to know, in case you noticed, that I’m not stuck in a rut with this song or anything, just a lot of people love it and want me to use it… so I do.
Although chilly, least it wasn’t raining Saturday. The day was perfect for Jess and Marc’s wedding at Maple Grove Methodist in Clintonville. Jess and Marc are such a wonderful couple! I’ve loved getting to know them over the last year or so, they are such genuine people.
Jess looked gorgeous! Lately, I’ve become a big fan of eyelashes, so of course I love this image below.
Maple Grove is just a really cool church. Look at these beams, just so awesome.
For the pictures in between the ceremony and reception, we stopped at this cool old barn in Dublin. Chill and all, Jess was a trooper and even took of her jacket for these pictures.
Ashley and Aleks got married a couple of weeks ago, and although I posted their slideshow, I haven’t had time to blog about them. So I’m finally catching up. Things at the Cope household have been cranking along. For those of you that may be visiting for the first time, my husband and I bought a house last year that was originally built in 1890. We’ve been working on it, and living in it, which makes life a little crazy. That, combined with having a four year old, and finishing out my 2009 wedding season, booking my 2010 season, etc… well… you maybe understand why I haven’t blogged as frequently. But now I’m catching up. I have three weddings and an engagement session to blog, so check in frequently over the next few days.
Ashley and Aleks had a beautiful, albeit very rainy, wedding day. Ashley is the sister of Lisa, who I had the pleasure of working with last year. Since I had worked with their family just a year ago, it was really fun to see them all again, they are such a wonderful group.
Here’s a favorite of Ashley during getting ready photos.
Ashley and Aleks were married at the Macedonian Orthodox Cathedral. Aleks comes form a Macedonian background. There are so many interesting Macedonian rites and traditions. This being my second Macedonian wedding, I was prepared to catch them. I do have to say that the two Macedonian weddings I have done might just have been my two most fun weddings ever. Plus the Macedonian Cathedral is just gorgeous.
Of course, with the rain, we were a little bit hindered with group shots outside, however, we made it work and had a great time. See what I mean about the Cathedral being beautiful.
Nicole and Shawn are getting married just about a month from now in early October. We did do an engagement session earlier in the year, but we wanted to include Lulu and Buster, so we got together again for some more pictures.
Shawn and Buster chillin’ in the hammock.
Lulu looking gorgeous in her wedding dress.
Here’s another fav. I do love a good metal staircase.
What?!? Cope Photography does family and kids pictures also! Yep! Click here to download pricing, or contact me for more info.
Meet the Waggoner family. Jeff and I have been friends with Drew and Nicole since before we were married, and we have loved watching their family grow. I have had the pleasure of photographing each of the kids since they were born. Parker being the newest addition.
We met up a couple of weeks ago to do a family portrait, as well as some individuals of the kids.
We took the pictures at Creekside in Gahanna. A really cool place to shoot, but man was it hot!
According to my daughter Allie, Caeden is the funniest boy in the whole world and someday she wants to marry him. She has great taste, he sure is a cute one.
Beautiful little Tessa just turned 4 a couple of weeks ago. Also a great friend of Allie’s.
And last but not least Parker. He was going through some serious teething when we met for pictures, so he looks a little bit serious here.
Meredith and Will are married! Something their families have seen coming for a long time. They started dating when Meredith was 13 or 14! I can’t even think of anyone I still know, apart from my family, from when I was 14. Anyway, I am so happy for the two of them. They’re a great couple.
Meredith had her makeup done by Alison Feamster. Alison always does an amazing job. Meredith’s eyes looked gorgeous.
This image below is really just a shot of the best man getting the rings out his jacket, which normally wouldn’t be “blog-worthy.” However, at this very moment the ringbearer was watching him get the rings out, and started to put two and two together.
This image shows the moment that the ringbearer realizes that the rings on his pillow are fakes. He made such a cute face when he realized it, like he was thinking, “Man! I got jipped.” Ha! What a cutie!
About a month ago, when I blogged about Sarah and Spencer’s wedding, you may remember that I raved about Cakes by Anita Klein. Well, I’m about to rave yet again. I’m a huge fan! So much so, that when I walked up to take pictures of Meredith and WIll’s beautiful cake, I knew it was Anita’s work before I even asked Meredith about it. Seriously. Just one sniff of that amazingly amazing buttercream, and one look at the awesome details on it, and I knew. Anita Klein rocks! She needs to get a website, just so I can continually link to it. Here’s a shot of the cake in all it’s luscious glory.
